About Karmina Fefferman
Karmina Fefferman advises clients in the food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, over-the-counter drug, and medical device industries on compliance with FDA and FTC requirements. Karmina is involved in all facets of a product’s lifecycle, from reviewing formulations, labeling (including state bottle bill requirements) and product classifications to conducting substantiation reviews for marketing claims and responding to regulatory enforcement actions. She works closely with clients to understand their needs, providing thorough counsel on the intricacies of federal and state laws and mitigating any enforcement and litigation risk. Karmina has also assisted clients in bringing successful challenges before the National Advertising Division against competitors making unsubstantiated claims.
In addition, Karmina assists clients with navigating California Proposition 65 requirements and U.S. food-contact material regulations. With respect to food-contact materials, she provides thoughtful advice on establishing compliance with FDA’s requirements, including developing a self-determined GRAS position and obtaining premarket clearance for food-contact substances. When not in the office, Karmina enjoys visiting museums and attending live performances such as concerts, operas and plays with her husband. She is also a travel enthusiast and loves visiting new places both in the U.S. and abroad. |
