About George R. Spatz

George Spatz has nearly two decades of experience representing food and beverage, dietary supplement, cosmetic, drug, medical device, software, and technology companies in supply chain, trademark/intellectual property, and other business disputes. George regularly handles contract disputes associated with the manufacturing, supply, and distribution of products, the development, licensing, and implementation of software, and associated services and business arrangements. George helps clients enforce their intellectual property (trademark, trade secret, patent, copyright) rights and regularly defends clients against intellectual property, false advertising, and government claims.

When disputes arise, clients view George as a trusted advisor who can effectively negotiate an amicable resolution or litigate aggressively. He provides thoughtful legal analysis and works closely with the company’s business team to achieve their objectives. In recognizing George with the 2018 MillerCoors Outside Counsel of the Year award, one client executive explained, “George does an excellent job explaining complex technical matters to the lawyers and keeping the legal team updated with timely communication. He’s a superb listener, patient, and respectful, and we love working with him.”

George has extensive experience litigating cases in federal and state court, in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and before government agencies and industry groups. He brings to Amin Wasserman Gurnani years of big law experience in supply chain and intellectual property disputes. George started his career at a technology law boutique before joining a multinational firm for 15 years. He has been recognized for his substantive knowledge and, among other things, was a featured commentator on CNBC’s Street Signs with Erin Burnett in a segment on privacy concerns related to the iPhone’s tracking of users’ locations.

Outside of law, George is an avid Northwestern sports fan and enjoys taking in football and basketball games with his wife and two daughters.
