About Lauren Aronson
Nationally recognized for her expertise in advertising and marketing law, Lauren Aronson is frequently called upon by market-leading companies in a broad spectrum of industries when disputes arise. She initiates and defends false advertising challenges before the National Advertising Division (NAD) and Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC) and represents clients in Lanham Act false advertising litigation. Clients also turn to Lauren to handle high-stakes regulatory defense matters relating to marketing and sales practices brought by the Federal Trade Commission and state attorneys general.
Lauren regularly guides clients through developing, substantiating, approving, and defending advertising claims in product categories ranging from food, cosmetics and dietary supplements to household products like superglue, drones, and trash bags. If additional evidence is necessary to support desired claims, she works hand-in-hand with clients to ensure the adequacy of substantiation, addressing both immediate needs and long-term goals.
In Lauren’s broader practice, she advises clients on evolving compliance challenges relating to social media, native advertising, testimonials and endorsements, consumer reviews, warranties, rebates, environmental marketing claims and sustainability, sweepstakes and promotions law, automatic renewals, pricing, and other advertising and marketing-related concerns.
Chambers USA highlighted Lauren’s experience in handling false advertising claims before the NAD as well as Lanham Act disputes, noting that she: “has an excellent bedside manner with clients. She thinks about problems very practically and helps clients get to where they need to be” and “is super knowledgeable, a very good writer and very strong analytically.”
Lauren has been included in “Best Lawyers in America” for Advertising Law from 2019 to 2024. In 2022, Legal 500 named Lauren a “Next Generation Partner” for Advertising & Marketing: Litigation and listed her as a recommended lawyer for Advertising and Marketing: Transactional & Regulatory. She currently serves as co-chair of the ABA Consumer Protection Committee and was a vice chair of the Committee from 2018 to 2021.
Outside of law, Lauren is a mom of three daughters, two dogs, and one cat. She recently said “no” to a horse, a bunny, another hamster, and a guinea pig. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys traveling with her family, trying new restaurants, musical theatre, and reading.
